Opening Day Lineups Snapshot: Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox

With MLB Opening Day looming, it's time to take a quick glance at the predicted lineups as the Houston Astros host the Chicago White Sox.

It's almost here: Major League Baseball Opening Day 2023.

For Houston Astros players and fans alike, the 2022 World Series champs begin the campaign to defend their title on Thursday, March 30 at Minute Maid Park as the Astros host the Chicago White Sox.

Opening game lineups, for the most part, are already set -- and the pitching matchup between Houston's Framber Valdez and Chicago's Dylan Cease has already been discussed.

First pitch is slated for 6:08 p.m. Central Time and the showdown between Houston and White Sox will be televised exclusively on ESPN.

For the visiting White Sox, the predicted lineup is as follows:

2. Luis Robert Jr, CF

3. Andrew Benintendi, LF

4. Eloy Jimenez, DH

5. Yoan Moncada, 3B

6. Andrew Vaughn, 1B

7. Yasmani Grandal, C

8. Oscar Colas, RF

9. Elvis Andrus, 2B

For the hometown Astros, manager Dusty Baker will likely go with the following lineup:

1. Jeremy Pena, SS

2. Alex Bregman, 3B

3. Yordan Alvarez, DH

4. Kyle Tucker, RF

5. Jose Abreu, 1B

6. Chas McCormick, LF

7. David Hensley, 2B

8. Jake Meyers, CF

9. Martin Maldonado, C

After garnering 106 wins last year and an 11-2 record in the playoffs, Houston aims to stay hot in terms of Opening Day wins.

In fact, the Astros are a perfect 10-0 on Opening Day since joining the American League.

They'll aim to keep that streak alive on Thursday.
