It looks like the Houston Astros will get to meet yet another United States President.

After meeting with President Donald Trump in 2018 to celebrate the team’s 2017 World Series title, the Astros are slated to meet with President Joe Biden on August 7 in a White House visit to commemorate Houston’s 2022 Championship.

Although only a handful of players remain from that 2017 squad, this will be the second trip to the Executive Mansion for Astros owner Jim Crane, second baseman José Altuve, third baseman Alex Bregman and pitcher Lance McCullers Jr.

The Astros went 106-56 in 2022 and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games to secure their second title in six years.

Houston will be making the stop at the nation’s capital between a pair of road trips against the New York Yankees (Aug. 3-6) and Baltimore Orioles (Aug. 8-10).

For Astros skipper Dusty Baker and a majority of the team, this will be a first in their careers — and definitely one to remember, regardless of one’s political views.

Although the Astros chances of repeating as World Series Champs appears slim, Houston (54-43) sits just 4.0 games behind the first-place Texas Rangers (58-39) in the American League West.

The Rangers begin a three-game home series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. CT while the Astros play game two of a four-game series at Oakland with a solid chance of gaining some ground on their intrastate rivals.

First pitch for Houston's game against the Athletics is slated for 8:40 p.m. CT, with Framber Valdez (7-6, 2.76 ERA) returning for the Astros and facing off against Oakland southpaw JP Sears (1-6, 3.99 ERA).
