Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker reached a new milestone in his managerial career following Tuesday's 9-7 win.

Baker tied his former manager Walter Alston for ninth all-time in managerial wins with 2,040.

Alston managed the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1954-57, and continued through their move to Los Angeles in 1958 until 1976.

Baker was managed by Alston in his final season as the Dodgers' skipper, after being dealt to Los Angeles from the Atlanta Braves when he was 27-years-old and in his ninth major league season.

The Astros are Baker's fifth MLB team that he's managed, and in 2.5 seasons in Houston, has already secured an American League pennant in 2021 and has an overall record of 177-125, good for a .586 winning percentage.

Baker already surpassed Bruce Bochy (2,003) and Leo Durocher (2,008) this season on the all-time list. At 53-27, the Astros lead the AL West by 13.5 games over the second-place Seattle Mariners, and are sure to add more wins to Dusty's record.
