Houston Astros outfielder Chas McCormick was pulled for a pinch hitter in the third inning of Friday’s game against the Texas Rangers because of what the team called vision issues.

One day later, the Astros stated that the vision issues in McCormick’s right eye had improved.

McCormick said that he began having vision problems at the beginning of Friday’s game and it last through the night.

He noted that vision had slowly improved though a specific diagnosis hadn’t been divulged.

"Physically and mentally, I felt fine yesterday, and I feel fine today," McCormick told reporters. "I just wasn't sure what was going on last night. I might have done something to it last night. ... I just think maybe I irritated it. They did a lot of treatment last night, and I was there for a while. They did a great job of making sure nothing severe was happening. They were concerned about the double vision.

“I wouldn't say I saw two baseballs, but I saw the baseball, and it was blurry on the side of it. Everything turned out to be OK."

McCormick was off to a solid start, slashing .275/.383/.500 with two home runs and four stolen bases.
