Houston Astros Prospects Round Up: May 18

Get caught up on what is going down on the Houston Astros farm in our latest prospects round up.

It's the middle of the week, meaning it's once again time to take a quick glance at how the Houston Astros top-30 prospects are faring in the farm system.

We'll begin with the prospects in Triple-A, and we'll take a closer look at the players from Sugar Land all the way down to the Single-A team in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Triple-A (Sugar Land Space Cowboys)

The Space Cowboys own a 17-23 record in 2023 and play at Oklahoma City (30-11) on Thursday, May 18.

C Korey Lee (No. 5 prospect): slashing .302/.349/.439 this season with eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 21 RBI and four stolen bases.

OF/2B Pedro Leon (No. 6 prospect): slashing .254/.322/.418 this season with eight doubles, one triple, four home runs, 19 RBI and five stolen bases.

OF Justin Dirden (No. 7 prospect): slashing .258/.336/.500 this season with seven doubles, three triples, six home runs, 22 RBI and two stolen bases.

RHP Misael Tamarez (No. 11 prospect): 0-0 record this season with a 4.26 ERA (12.2 innings pitched), eight strikeouts, 18 walks and a 1.97 WHIP.

3B/OF Joe Perez (No. 14 prospect): slashing .246/.299/.388 this season with eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 20 RBI and two stolen bases.

RHP Forrest Whitley (No. 19 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 5.40 ERA (25.0 innings pitched), 26 strikeouts, 11 walks and a 1.12 WHIP.

RHP Shawn Dubin (No. 23 prospect): 0-1 record this season with a 6.27 ERA (18.2 innings pitched), 18 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 1.45 WHIP.

Double-A (Corpus Christi Hooks)

The Hooks own a 15-20 record in 2023 and host Tulsa (22-13) on Thursday, May 18.

OF Drew Gilbert (No. 1 prospect): slashing .281/.324/.375 this season with three doubles and five RBI (through nine games since being called up from High-A).

OF Colin Barber (No. 3 prospect): slashing .280/.407/.467 this season with five doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI and one stolen base.

LHP Colton Gordon (No. 8 prospect): 2-3 record this season with a 4.53 ERA (32.1 innings pitched), 40 strikeouts, 14 walks and a 1.33 WHIP.

RHP Spencer Arrighetti (No. 9 prospect): 3-2 record this season with a 5.40 ERA (31.2 innings pitched), 32 strikeouts, 13 walks and a 1.33 WHIP.

INF Will Wagner (No. 12 prospect): slashing .280/.383/.480 this season with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.

RHP Jaime Melendez (No. 13 prospect): 2-0 record this season with a 5.59 ERA (9.2 innings pitched), eight strikeouts, seven walks and a 1.55 WHIP.

OF/1B/2B Joey Loperfido (No. 16 prospect): slashing .300/.457/.543 this season with five doubles, four home runs, 19 RBI and eight stolen bases (through 21 games since being called up from High-A).

OF Kenedy Corona (No. 18 prospect): slashing .232/.275/.432 this season with five doubles, one triple, four home runs, 13 RBI and eight stolen bases (through 25 games since being called up from High-A).

OF Quincy Hamilton (No. 22 prospect): slashing .264/.381/.409 this season with 10 doubles, two home runs, 16 RBI and four stolen bases.

OF Zach Daniels (No. 30 prospect): slashing .385/.385/.538 this season with two doubles, one RBI and one stolen base (has only played in four games this year).

High-A (Asheville Tourists)

The Tourists own a 14-19 record in 2023 and host Greensboro (20-15) on Thursday, May 18.

OF Jacob Melton (No. 2 prospect): slashing .253/.387/.494 this season with three doubles, six home runs, 14 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

OF Ryan Clifford (No. 4 prospect): slashing .136/.269/.318 this season with one double, one home run, three RBI and one stolen base (through seven games since being called up from Single-A).

RHP Miguel Ullola (No. 10 prospect): 0-2 record this season with a 7.50 ERA (24.0 innings pitched), 25 strikeouts, 21 walks and a 1.88 WHIP.

OF Logan Cerny (No. 20 prospect): slashing .179/.254/.299 this season with two doubles, four home runs, 13 RBI and seven stolen bases.

RHP Edinson Batista (No. 24 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 5.40 ERA (21.2 innings pitched), 24 strikeouts, six walks and a 1.25 WHIP.

RHP Michael Knorr (No. 25 prospect): 0-2 record this season with a 7.71 ERA (7.0 innings pitched), 11 strikeouts, five walks and a 2.14 WHIP (through two games since being called up from Single-A).

C/1B Miguel Palma (No. 28 prospect): slashing .278/.333/.412 this season with seven doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI and three stolen bases.

Single-A (Fayetteville Woodpeckers)

The Woodpeckers own a 14-20 record in 2023 and play at Down East (19-14) on Thursday, May 18.

RHP Andrew Taylor (No. 15 prospect): 1-2 record this season with a 4.43 ERA (22.1 innings pitched), 34 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 1.52 WHIP.

RHP Jose Fleury (No. 27 prospect): 0-1 record this season with a 3.28 ERA (24.2 innings pitched), 35 strikeouts, 16 walks and a 1.09 WHIP.

3B/2B Zach Dezenzo (No. 29 prospect): slashing .386/.457/.591 this season with seven doubles, one triple, three home runs, 16 RBI and two stolen bases.

All four of the Astros farm teams are playing again on Thursday, giving Houston's prospects further opportunities to develop as the season rolls on.
