The Houston Astros' success in recent seasons has been due to what the team does as a whole. However, for that success to happen, it takes individuals to play at a high level.

Kyle Tucker has played at just as high of a level as anyone on the Astros' roster.

His play was recognized by MLB Network, ranking him the No. 2 right fielder in baseball.

Tucker missed out on the top spot to Ronald Acuna Jr., the reigning unanimous National League MVP. The left-handed Tucker finished in front of Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis, and reigning National League Rookie of the Year winner Corbin Carroll.

Tucker has an argument to be the best right fielder in baseball, and while Soto might be the better hitter, the Houston star got the nod over him. He was the No. 4 ranked right fielder heading into the 2023 season, moving up two spots.

Last season, Tucker posted a 5.4 WAR and slashed .284/.369/.517. He blasted 29 home runs and drove in an AL-leading 112 runs. He was named an All-Star for the second time in six seasons, earning back-to-back honors.

As he enters the 2024 season, this is as big of a year as ever for Tucker and the Astros. After losing in the ALCS to the Texas Rangers, Houston has one goal on their mind, and that's getting back to the World Series.

If Tucker can put up another near 30 home run season and post an OPS+ of 142, they have a great chance of doing so.
