It certainly didn't look like the old days when two of the Houston Astros pitching legends competed in Minute Maid Park, but it was still great to see them on the mound.

Minute Maid Park will be rocking when the Houston Astros welcome in the New York Yankees on March 28 to begin the 2024 season.

Last year, the Astros had the seventh-highest attendance numbers according to Statista.

With them going for their third World Series title in franchise history, they should expect similar attendance with the potential that they host more in 2024.

Houston fans didn't have to wait until their team takes the field to pack Minute Maid Park over the weekend.

About 41,000 people were in attendance to see the Savannah Bananas compete in their first MLB stadium ever. Normally the baseball version of the Harlem Globetrotters plays their games in minor league stadiums.

Fans were also able to see a pair of Astros legends take the mound for the Bananas as well.

Roger Clemens was the first to appear, followed by Roy Oswalt.

The two were teammates from 2004-06, the only three-year stretch that Clemens was with Houston.

During that time period, the pair was the best one-two punch in baseball as Clemens won a Cy Young award in 2004, finished third in 2005 and was a two-time All-Star. Oswalt was also a two-time All-Star and finished third, fourth and fourth in the Cy Young voting.

They didn't quite have the same stuff as they used to have when suiting up for the Bananas.

Clemens gave up three hits, a home run, and only retired one batter, while Oswalt gave up three hits in his one-third inning of work.

Still, it was a great chance for fans to see two of the franchise's best starting pitchers back on the mound playing in Houston.
