Boras Cooperation announced the signing of José Urquidy to the agency on Instagram Monday. The Houston Astros' starter was previously represented by Excel Sports Management but now joins teammates José Altuve, Alex Bregman, Korey Lee and Lance McCullers Jr. under the representation of Scott Boras.

Urquidy enters his first year of arbitration in 2023 while making $748,700 during the 2022 season, according to Spotrac. Over the last four seasons, the 27-year-old has a 3.71 ERA and 221 strikeouts in 272 1/3 innings for the Astros.

In his last five starts since June 14, the righty has posted a 2.45 ERA through 33 innings of work with 22 strikeouts. Urquidy has lowered his season ERA to 4.09 and his WHIP to 1.23 in that span.
