Is Prospect Isaiah Drake the Next Atlanta Superstar?

Drake shined during the Atlanta Braves Spring Breakout game versus the Boston Red Sox.

With the 162nd overall pick in the fifth round of the 2023 MLB Draft, the Atlanta Braves decided to take a chance on a talented player coming out of North Atlanta High School.

Isaiah Drake is a 5'10, 185-pound outfielder who has all of the tools he needs to be a great Major League outfielder. His biggest draw is his speed - he flies around bases with ease. He showed that speed off in the Braves Spring Breakout game against the Red Sox, putting a ball in the gap in right-center field and turning what would be a double for most people into an RBI triple.

He also stole a base in the second inning. Unfortunately, he was pulled from the game after attempting to make a diving catch in the bottom of the fourth inning with what turned out to be only a cramp. After the game, he was all smiles, though.

“It was a great experience going out and playing against the top prospects from the Red Sox,” Drake said. “We were out here playing in front of so many fans and just having fun playing baseball.” - Drake

If the name Drake rings a bell for you, that's because his brother is former Alabama and NFL running back Kenyan Drake. He is currently ranked as the No. 22 prospect in the Braves organization and he won't turn 19 until July. We have seen players like Michael Harris and Spencer Strider have meteoric rises through the minor league ranks. Drake could be the next guy to have a quick rise through the minors due to his ability. He could be the future left fielder for Atlanta. We could one day have Drake in left field, Harris in center, and Acuña in right field.
