MLB Announces Roster for Atlanta's 'Spring Breakout' Prospects Game Against Boston

The Atlanta Braves are sending some impressive arms up against Boston next weekend

The Atlanta Braves have quite a few highly impressive pitchers in their farm system.

And next week, the prospects of the Boston Red Sox are going to find out firsthand.

MLB has announced the rosters for the "Spring Breakout" prospect game between the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox, scheduled for March 16th at 1PM ET.

Here's who Atlanta will be sending to Ft. Myers:

PITCHERS (8)
RHP Spencer Schwellenbach
RHP Owen Murphy
RHP Domingo Gonzalez
RHP Patrick Halligan
LHP Hayden Harris
RHP Jared Johnson
RHP Rolddy Munoz
RHP Shay Schanaman

Top prospects AJ Smith-Shawver and Hurston Waldrep, both in big-league camp, aren't participating. But two of the other top-tier starters in Schwellenbach and Murphy will be part of the lineup, and expectations will be high for the duo.

CATCHERS
Drake Baldwin
Tyler Tolve

Both Baldwin and Tolve have been in major league camp, with Baldwin in particular getting rave reviews for both his offense and defense during his early Grapefruit League action.

INFIELDERS
Nacho Alvarez Jr, SS
Sabin Ceballos, 3B
Diego Benitez, SS
Ambioris Tavarez, SS
Cade Bunnell, INF
Bryson Horne, INF
Keshawn Ogans, INF
Luke Waddell, INF

Alvarez and Ceballos are the most anticipated names here, with Nacho having played late in Grapefruit League and Ceballos an intriguing draft pick from 2023 that's known as a defensive whiz from his time in college.

OUTFIELDERS
Luis Guanipa, OF
Isaiah Drake, OF
Kevin Kilpatrick Jr., OF
Cody Milligan, OF

It's an interesting group of outfielders here, with one of Atlanta's premiere international signings in Guanipa and a recent draft selection in Drake.

UTILITY
Geraldo Quintero

Quintero is an jack-of-all-trades that, while a bit limited from a power perspective, has a lot of tools that would point towards a utility role at the next level.
