The Atlanta Braves enter the 2024 MLB Season as one of the favorites to win the World Series.

After winning 100 games last season, most projections have the Braves doing the same thing in 2024. After an impressive offensive display over Opening Weekend against the Philadelphia Phillies, it seems like we will see a similar level of production for Atlanta.

Will Leitch wrote about one takeaway from every MLB team's Opening Weekend for MLB.com. When he got to the Atlanta Braves, he said "Injuries could be the only thing to slow this lineup."

"The Braves can score like no one else in baseball, largely because their lineup is so deep," Leitch wrote. "They have stars and the ability to keep coming at you, one through nine. That was the case again this weekend as nine different players drove in at least one run, but the first significant injury arrived, too, with catcher Sean Murphy straining his oblique on a swing Friday. Murphy was the one Braves regular who played fewer than 138 games last year as he shared time with Travis d’Arnaud, but his early absence is a reminder that the good fortune to avoid injuries is a difficult thing to repeat.

A few reports have said that Murphy is not expected to miss much time. The oblique strain turns out to be a grade one left-oblique strain, meaning there are no tears to deal with.

The Braves won two out of three against the Phillies over the weekend. They won 9-3 on Opening Day, 12-4 on Saturday. They dropped the third game of the series 4-5. The Braves head to the Windy City to play the Chicago White Sox for a three-game series starting Monday afternoon.
