Braves Briefing: Dylan Cease 'is going to be traded'
The available aces are dwindling. Tyler Glasnow has been shipped to the Dodgers and Atlanta does not seem to be in the running for free agent Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
That turns all eyes back to where we started: Dylan Cease.
The White Sox have been patient with their decision to move one of their elite starters. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal said on the Foul Territory podcast earlier this week, "At some point, Dylan Cease is going to be traded."
This lines up with all of the speculation garnered this offseason regarding Cease and if a contender would look to the White Sox to help them push all their chips into the center of the table.
Atlanta seemed interested in Cease early. Over time, maybe the asking price could go down.
How long until pitchers and catchers report?
55 days. Atlanta's expected to ask pitchers and catchers to report on Monday, February 12th, in advance of their first spring training game on February 24th against the Tampa Bay Rays. An official announcement of the reporting date will come in January.
