MLB Pipeline has southpaw Dylan Dodd as the number ten prospect in the Braves organization, and he showed why in his Spring Training start against the Orioles on Monday.

Dodd threw four scoreless innings, striking out four and only allowing two hits.

He has now thrown 8.1 innings in Spring Training, striking out 11 to go with no walks, no runs, and only allowing five hits.

Dodd has a really interesting fastball, as it does not have "blow you away" speed, but hitters have a tough time picking up on it. Part of his dominance with the fastball is his ability to locate it on the corners, top, and bottom of the strike zone. He locates his changeup well and does a terrific job keeping it down in the zone.

His slider is one of the most unique pitches I have ever seen a pitcher throw since it is so different from the norm. Its shape is more of a 9-3 rather than the 10-4 action you see on most left-handed sliders.

He keeps the ball hidden behind his back leg, which is why so many hitters have trouble picking up the pitch he is going to throw.

Dodd is going to have an outstanding career with the Braves, and there is a chance we will see it begin this season.

Let's take a look at a few pitches from Dodd's start against the Baltimore Orioles.
