Braves Briefing: Reporter is high on the second half of the 2023 MLB Season

The Atlanta Braves Sideline Reporter is high on this team.

On the latest Braves Today Podcast Atlanta Braves Sideline Reporter Kelly Crull shared her thoughts on this season so far and what to expect moving forward this season.

She also highlighted the respect and admiration that people have for the Braves manager, Brian Snitker. Crull talked about "Snit" as a down-to-earth and a special man.

Crull shares a story about a memorable night when Snit achieved his 500th win as the Braves manager and she had the opportunity to show Snit a video of his grandkids graduating him, and this moment holds a special place in the host's heart. It demonstrates the personal connection and bond that the host has with Snit.

The host goes on to discuss how Snit is not just a baseball manager but also a family man. He talks about Snit's interactions with his wife, kids, and grandkids, emphasizing that Snit is just like any other person. This down-to-earth nature is what makes Snit relatable and approachable to his players and the people around him.

They said it

When asked about what second-half expectations on the season were for this Braves team, Crull said the following.

They've set a really high bar, haven't they, in the first half? But to your point, they faced some of the more, at the moment, what looks like difficult AL Central East teams. They've gotten Toronto out of the way. They've gotten Texas out of the way. So looking forward to more divisional plays. They'll see the Philly teams. They'll see the Phillies a couple of times. They've got the Marlins one more time, I think, in late September. So the second half, I think for them, I would imagine their biggest goal is to stay healthy and get healthy. I can't wait to see Max Fried return to this rotation whenever it is that he is ready. That'll be tremendous. I can't wait to see how that plays out, because truth be told, depending on how other guys are pitching, they could go to a six-man rotation at some point. If it makes sense, get guys like Charlie Morton or guys like even Spencer Strider, who for Strider, this will likely be the most innings he's ever pitched. I think Bryce Elder would be the same way. So if you're able to get those guys a few turns where they can rest and then in the long run be healthy in September, I think that is the biggest goal and the biggest hopeful expectation. And then meanwhile, just keep playing great baseball.
