Braves Briefing: Where is Atlanta in the latest MLB Power Rankings?

Where do the Atlanta Braves rank in MLB.com's latest MLB Power Rankings?

The Atlanta Braves are still the top team in all of baseball according to MLB.com's latest power rankings written by Will Leitch.

Despite the Los Angeles Dodgers dropping a tremendous amount of cast this offseason for huge names like Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow, MLB.com still has the Atlanta Braves as the top team in baseball.

The addition of Jarred Kelenic and Chris Sale to the team with the most wins in 2023 keeps Atlanta at number one.

Here's what Leitch wrote about the Braves at the top spot:

However excited you may or may not be about the additions of Chris Sale from the Red Sox and Jarred Kelenic from the Mariners, our voters didn’t overcomplicate things: The team with the best record (by far) in 2023 tops the Power Rankings to kick off 2024. And why not? They still have the MVP in Ronald Acuña Jr. They still have Matt Olson, Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies following him in the order. They still have a terrific rotation and they still have, well, they still have just about everybody back from a team that won 104 games in 2023. This is a team that is built to win right now. And win, without question, is something they will do very much of in 2024.

How long until pitchers and catchers report?

42 days. Atlanta's expected to ask pitchers and catchers to report on Monday, February 12th, in advance of their first spring training game on February 24th against the Tampa Bay Rays. An official announcement of the reporting date will come in January.

Here's the odds for the top 10 teams to win the 2024 World Series according to FanDuel

Despite Atlanta acquiring Sale yesterday, there were no overnight moves in the gambling lines to win the 2024 World Series, with LA still being the favorites.
