Atlanta Braves set a new National League home run record against Philadelphia

Atlanta's hit 281 round-trippers this year, passing the 2019 Dodgers for most in National League history

The Atlanta Braves have hit three home runs against the Philadelphia Phillies, giving them a National League record 281.

Matt Olson's home-run, his 51st, tied Braves great Andruw Jones for the Atlanta Braves single-season record, set by Jones in 2005.

(Also, wild fact: Hank Aaron never hit 50 home runs in a season. His single-season high was 47, in 1971.)

And then the 5th inning happened. Both Ronald Acuña Jr and Marcell Ozuna went deep in the inning, tying and then breaking the NL record of 280 set by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2019.

The Braves are now on pace for 311 home runs, which would surpass the 2019 Minnesota Twins for the most in a single season in MLB history, who hit 307. They sit just 26 homers behind the Twins.

(and yes, if you're curious - 2019 was the year of the "juiced ball" that saw inflated homer totals all across the league)

As a bonus, Ronald also passed Dale Murphy for the single season runs record. Murphy scored 131 runs in 1983, the 2nd of his back-to-back MVPs.
