Charlie Morton Draws Start at Home Against Yankees in Grapefruit League Action

The Atlanta Braves are pretty much in regular season mode with a week left in spring training

The Atlanta Braves start their 2024 season in one week against Philadelphia.

So you can call this a dress rehearsal, of sorts.

Atlanta's sending veteran starter Charlie Morton to the mound in North Port's CoolToday Park to take on the visiting New York Yankees. It's Morton's third appearance (second start) of spring.

Here's how the Braves will line up for the 1:05 PM ET first pitch:

RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
2B Ozzie Albies
3B Austin Riley
1B Matt Olson
DH Marcell Ozuna
CF Michael Harris II
C Sean Murphy
SS Orlando Arcia
LF Jarred Kelenic

Given that the Yankees are starting a lefty on the mound, there was some thought that Atlanta could send out Adam Duvall for his spring debut, but the veteran will continue working on the side as he sets his sights on being available for Atlanta's game three in Philadelphia. The Phillies are expected to start lefty Ranger Suarez in that game, and Duvall will be in the lineup against lefty starters, who he batted .284 against last season.

Here's how the Yankees will line up behind starter Nestor Cortes (0-1, 8.10 ERA)

LF Alex Verdugo
SS Anthony Volpe
C Austin Wells
DH Oscar Gonzalez
RF Oswaldo Cabrera
1B Jose Rojas
2B Jahmai Jones
3B Caleb Durbin
CF Greg Allen
