Four-Time All-Star Names Atlanta Braves Pitcher Among Toughest He's Faced

The Atlanta Braves have a lot of upside with their pitching entering 2024.

The Atlanta Braves made some moves to up their production on the mound in 2024.

Arguably, their biggest offseason addition was the first name out of Colorado first baseman four-time All-Star Kris Bryant, when he was asked to name the toughest three pitchers he's faced.

Of course, the pitcher he mentioned was Chris Sale, who Atlanta acquired from the Boston Red Sox via trade this offseason.

"Can I say 'All of them?" Bryant joked in an Instagram post by BRWalkOff. "Chris Sale, pretty dang good."

He also mentioned Garrett Cole of the New York Yankees and Jordan Hicks of the San Francisco Giants.

The addition of Sale this offseason has been met with plenty of different opinions and almost all of them circle around his ability to stay healthy. Sale is expected to be the third arm in the rotation behind Spencer Strider and Max Fried.

"This is the first time I've gone into an offseason without dealing with something since 2018, something like that. It's been a long time." Sale said to media after signing with the Braves. "It's been a while since I've had the whole package of finishing healthy, having a normal offseason, and coming into spring training being healthy. All those things and hopefully being a little bit older and slightly smarter."

Sale is going through his first spring with the Atlanta Braves and will hope to be a huge part in Atlanta being able to compete in 2024. It was announced earlier that Strider is the starting pitcher for Atlanta's first spring game.
