Lineup, how to watch the series finale between the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox

Atlanta's got their streak of eleven consecutive series wins on the line with Kolby Allard taking on Dylan Cease in the finale

The Atlanta Braves are in a somewhat unfamiliar position as we head into Sunday's game three - they haven't won the series yet. Atlanta's taken the last eleven series from their opponents, and in seven of those, they won the first two games and entered the rubber matchup looking for a sweep, not to keep the series alive.

Lefty Kolby Allard gets the start for Atlanta today, taking on Dylan Cease, as Atlanta looks to make it twelve straight series wins. The last series they dropped was more than a month ago, losing two out of three in the end of May to the Oakland Athletics.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, July 16th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Eddie Rosario, who left last night's game for precautionary reasons with hamstring tightness (after two significant misplays in left field that led to three runs for Chicago and should have been charged as errors) is out of the lineup, with Sam Hilliard getting the start and batting 9th. This change shifts CF Michael Harris II to Rosario's usual #7 spot, with SS Orlando Arcia remaining at #8.

As is custom for a day game after a night game, Atlanta's changed their catchers, with Travis d'Arnaud getting the start and batting 5th.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox

Atlanta's starting lefty Kolby Allard in the series finale. The 25 year-old is 0-0 with a 4.22 ERA in his three appearances (two starts) for Atlanta this year, striking out twelve in 10.2 innings since being called up from AAA. The White Sox have faced him a few times from when he was back in Texas, but no one's been that successful: Elvis Andrus is 3-10 with a RBI, Tim Anderson and Eloy Jiménez have one hit each, and everyone else is somewhere between 0-1 and 0-4.

Taking the bump for Chicago is RHP Dylan Cease. 2022's AL Cy Young runner up is not having as good of a season last year, only 3-3 with a 4.30 ERA in his nineteen starts. He's struck out 123 batters in his 102.2 innings pitched, with 12 homeruns allowed in those 102.2 innings (a year after he gave up only 16 in 184 innings). Very few current Braves have much experience against Cease, with only four players even having faced him in their careers. Sean Murphy is 1-8 with a homerun, Eddie Rosario is 2-7 with a RBI, Travis d'Arnaud is 1-2 with a homerun and four RBIs, and Matt Olson is 0-3.
