MLB Analyst Is Very Candid Regarding The Atlanta Braves Goal For 2024

MLB.com listed a goal for the Atlanta Braves in 2024.

The Atlanta Braves 2023 season was historic, and then the postseason started.

Atlanta's 2023 regular season was filled with wins, historic performances, and total domination of the NL East. We all know that changed when the postseason started and they lost the series against the Philadelphia Phillis when it mattered most.

MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince listed one goal for every MLB team in 2024. When he got to the Atlanta Braves, he was pretty honest. "Stop losing to the Phillies in the playoffs." With the way Atlanta's roster is built, it's pretty hard to argue against that goal.

"The format fault-finders need to cool it," Castrovince writes. "Whine is bad for you. As staff ace Spencer Strider said, “If having five days [off] means you can’t make the adjustment, you have nobody to blame but yourself.” This Braves roster is certainly good enough to win a playoff series. But for whatever reason, their division foes have proved a postseason predicament that must be overcome (if not avoided).

Atlanta is the favorite to win the NL East again this season but if the Braves can't get past the Phillies in the postseason, it will limit the ceiling for the championship window that Atlanta finds itself in.

The NL East should be better this season. After the Braves, Phillies, and Marlins made the postseason last year, the New York Mets should win more games than a year ago. Atlanta's lineup is stacked and should give the Braves enough firepower to catapult them into a top seed in the MLB postseason. They just have to beat the Phillies.
