Takeaways: Atlanta Braves clinch series win in dominant 11-5 win against Milwaukee Brewers

The Atlanta Braves wasted no time jumping out in front of the Milwaukee Brewers as they rode a six-run first inning to victory in their second-straight 10-run game.

The Atlanta Braves have had some trouble at the plate since the second half started but the offensive issues appear to be fixed as they routed the Brewers 11-5 to secure the series victory.

Former Brave Julio Teheran got the start for the Brewers and allowed nine runs off of 11 hits in five innings of work. Bryce Elder recorded yet another great start, only allowing one run off of four hits in seven innings of action.

Marcell Ozuna is on fire

The Braves designated hitter had yet another monster game going 3-4. Ozuna doubled in the first inning and hit home runs in back-to-back at-bats in the fifth and seventh innings.

Despite a cold start to the season, Ozuna appears to be finding his footing in the batter's box.

Ozuna heating up will help the team continue to produce at a high level offensively.

The bullpen needs some work

The Brewers had scored one run prior to the eighth inning. The Braves turned to relief pitcher Taylor Hearn, a recent acquisition from the Texas Rangers, and four Milwaukee runs cross the plate.

The effort to beef up the bullpen has been there, but it is safe to say that general manager Alex Anthopoulos is likely not done yet.

The Braves would be excited to cross paths with the Brewers in the postseason

The Braves took two out of three games against the Brewers on the road in Milwaukee last weekend and have locked up the series win this weekend at home in Truist Park.

The Braves were also able to break out of their offensive slump against the Brewers.

The Brewers currently share control of the NL Central with the Cincinnati Reds so there is a chance a rematch of the 2021 NLDS could be in the cards come October.

Tomorrow

The series finale is set for tomorrow at 1:35 p.m. ET/12:35 p.m. CT. Colin Rea (5-4, 4.53 ERA) is set to take the mound for the Brewers and the Braves have not named a starter yet.
