WATCH: Kevin Pillar picks up Atlanta's 300th homer of the season with a 6th inning solo shot

The 2023 Atlanta Braves are only the 3rd team in baseball history to hit 300 homers in a single season

The Atlanta Braves have already locked up the National League East, but they are pushing for history.

Braves outfielder Kevin Pillar's solo homer in the bottom of the 6th inning off of Cubs lefty Justin Steele was Atlanta's 300th homer of the season, only the third team in MLB history to reach that mark.

The homer led off the 6th inning, on a 3-1 fastball that was left out over the plate. Coming off the bat at 105.4 mph, Pillar sent it 425 feet to left-center field.

The homer, Pillar's 9th of the year, puts Atlanta with the 2019 Yankees and 2019 Twins as the only teams to reach 300 homers in the season; the Twins hold the single season record, at 307.

Atlanta is trailing 6-1 in the bottom of the 6th after Justin Steele cruised through the first five innings, allowing only four hits and no runs, striking out six with no walks/
