The San Francisco Giants have had a rather tough start to the year, sitting at 4-7 on the year. After an offseason that saw them add talent, the hope and expectation was for the Giants to be a better team in 2024.

While it's too early to press the panic button, San Francisco has a prime opportunity to get back on track in their series against the Washington Nationals after dropping the first game of the three-game set.

Outside of improving instantly, the Giants could make trades during the season to better their roster. Of the potential candidates, Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report lists them as a potential landing spot for former Rookie of the Year, Jonathan India.

India's an above-average player, but finds himself in a tough spot with the Cincinnati Reds at times due to the number of infielders they have on the team. His name was involved in trade rumors all offseason, and while nothing came to light, that's usually an indicator that a deal could be taking place in the foreseeable future.

The 27-year-old has a career 5.5 WAR entering his fourth season. He's coming off a year where he slashed .244/.338/.407, hitting 17 home runs and driving in 61.

During the 2021 season when India was named the Rookie of the Year, he hit 21 home runs and posted an OPS of .835.

San Francisco would be taking a chance on India, and one that could pay off in the end. He's shown the ability to play at a high level and a change of scenery could be all he needs to do that.
