Jesús Luzardo and Marlins Welcome Astros for Spring Training Matchup

The Opening Day starter for the Miami Marlins gets a test against a mostly MLB-caliber lineup

The Miami Marlins are looking for some good vibes in spring training.

Dealing with multiple injuries to their projected starting rotation and with questions about offensive production in 2024, the Marlins get a chance to quiet the noise with a mostly-MLB caliber lineup heading into Jupiter for today's Grapefruit League matchup.

Opening Day starter Jesús Luzardo gets the ball against the Houston Astros today in Jupiter's Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Here's how Miami will line up for the contest:

2B Nick Gordon
3B Vidal Bruján
LF Bryan De La Cruz
RF Avasaíl García
CF Dane Myers
SS Jon Berti
1B Trey Mancini
DH Christian Bethancourt
C Nick Fortes

Luzardo is 0-1 in spring so far, with a 4.15 ERA in his three starts so far. He's struck out eight and walked only one in his 8.2 innings pitched.

Here's how the Astros will line up - it's a surprisingly MLB-laden lineup for a road matchup only halfway through spring training.

2B Jose Altuve
DH Yordan Alvarez
3B Alex Bregman
RF Kyle Tucker
LF Chaz McCormick
SS Jeremy Peña
C Victor Caratini
CF Mauricio Dubón
1B Trae Kessinger

Righty Hunter Brown is the scheduled starter for the Astros.
