Trevor Rogers Looks to Quiet Rotation Concerns at Home Versus Philadelphia

The Miami Marlins are looking for big things from the lefty starter who missed most of last season to injury

The Miami Marlins aren't in full panic mode...yet.

But the bad news for the rotation keeps compounding after yesterday's revelation that young phenom Eury Pérez, slowed by a broken fingernail, will be shut down from throwing for almost a week and is officially questionable for Opening Day.

Enter...Trevor Rogers?

The lefty, who was shut down in late April with a biceps issue and never got back on the mound for Miami, is reportedly fully healthy and looking to provide some stability in what's become a patchwork rotation for the Marlins.

Here's how Miami will line up behind him as they welcome division rival Philadelphia to Jupiter's Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium:

2B Luis Arraez
SS Tim Anderson
1B Josh Bell
3B Jake Burger
CF Jazz Chisholm Jr.
DH Bryan De La Cruz
RF Jesus Sánchez
C Nick Fortes
LF Nick Gordon

Rogers is 1-0 this spring in two starts with a 0.00 ERA. He's struck out six and walked none in his five innings, allowing only three total hits. He's reportedly scheduled for about 60 pitches, ideally with a depth of four innings. Tanner Scott and George Soriano are among the pitchers scheduled to follow Rogers.

Here's how the Phillies will deploy their lineup for the road matchup:

LF Brandon Marsh
2B Whit Merrifield
3B Alec Bohm
RF Nick Castellanos
SS Edmundo Sosa
CF Johan Rojas
1B Kody Clemons
C Cam Gallagher
DH Weston Wilson

Starting for Philadelphia is free agent signing Kolby Allard. He's 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA this spring, having struck out four in his four innings of work, albeit with three walks.
