It's official, the New York Mets are bringing back big bopper Luke Voit.

On Monday, the Mets and Voit came to an agreement on a minor league contract with an invitation to big-league spring training.

Voit arrived at Clover Park, the Mets' spring training facility in Port St. Lucie on Monday shortly before his contract was announced by the team.

Voit spent a portion of the 2023 season with the Mets' Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse, where he showed he still has major pop, positing a 1.058 OPS, 14 home runs and 35 RBIs in just 37 games.

However, the Mets did not call him up to the majors, which led to his decision to opt-out of his deal in early-August. Voit finished the year with the Milwaukee Brewers at the major-league level, but struggled in 22 games with zero homers and a .221/.284/.265 slash line and .549 OPS.

Voit's performance in the big-leagues last season was not promising, but the show he put on in Triple-A with the Syracuse Mets portrayed a glimmer of hope that he can potentially contribute in the DH spot if Mark Vientos falters this year.

Voit will need to pick up where he left off in the minors if he does not make the Mets out of camp, so time will tell whether he can get back on track at the major league level again.
