Top Orioles Prospect Posts Incredible Memory From Wedding Day

Jackson Holliday tied the knot as he prepares to hit Spring Training with the Baltimore Orioles.

The Baltimore Orioles have the No. 1 prospect in Jackson Holliday. Last weekend, baseball’s No. 1 prospect got married.

Holliday and his fiancé, Chloe Cox, were married after getting engaged late in 2022 while on a trip to Mexico.

While the couple made no formal announcement, Holliday shared a story on his Instagram page from what appeared to be the reception. Holliday changed the bio on his Instagram home page noting that Chole was his wife. Chloe also changed the handle on her Instagram feed to include Holliday’s last name.

Apparently some of Holliday’s teammates were at the event, including John Rhodes, who shared video from the reception. Rhodes was the Orioles’ third-round pick in 2021 and spent the 2023 season with the Bowie Baysox, where he and Holliday would have been teammates.

Holliday, the son of former Major League start Matt Holliday, was the No. 1 overall pick of the 2022 MLB Draft. He cruised through the Orioles’ minor-league system last year, reaching Triple-A Norfolk before turning 20 and he’s batted .320/.449/.490 in 671 minor league plate appearances.

Holliday, who is not on the 40-man roster but should get an invitation to Major League Spring Training as he did last year, seems poised to have a chance at making the Major League roster.

The Orioles do have a set infield in terms of returning players, but Holliday’s blend of offense and defense should make him a difficult player to send back to the minors if he has a great spring.

MLB executives believe he has a chance to be the American League Rookie of the Year. A straw poll taken by MLB.com has him second behind Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter.
