There's plenty to be excited about for the Baltimore Orioles this year as they get ready to embark on a journey they hope brings a deep postseason run.

After winning an American League-most 101 games in 2023, they were unceremoniously eliminated from the playoffs after getting swept by the eventual World Series champion Texas Rangers.

For a team as young as the Orioles, that is nothing to hang their heads over.

But it still stings, something many of the players have talked about entering this year.

With a core group led by rising superstars Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson, the veterans on this team are hoping to remind everyone they can play too.

Cedric Mullins reportedly did that during live batting practice.

According to Roch Kubatko of MASN, he put together some great at-bats against Cole Irvin, lining the ball up the middle and to the left side of the infield with solid contact.

However, it was his rep against Baltimore's No. 18 overall prospect Justin Armbruester that caught the attention of everyone.

Mullins blasted a ball off the top of the scoreboard in right-center field that almost cleared it entirely.

This is a great sign for the Orioles.

The 29-year-old had a frustrating season last year after having two separate stints on the injured list because of groin strains.

During his All-Star season in 2021, he played 159 games and bashed a career-high 30 homers with 59 RBI. He played 156 games and drove in a career-high 64 runs in 2022.

He was limited to only 116 games last year and posted an OPS+ of 101, his lowest since becoming a full-time player three seasons ago.

Mullins is looking to get his groove back in 2024 and his performance at the plate so far gives Baltimore plenty to look forward to as Opening Day gets closer and closer.
