The Baltimore Orioles Spring Training has plenty to be excited about if you're a fan. Corbin Burnes, another year for the young players on the roster to improve, and the chance to watch Jackson Holliday play.

Holliday has a real chance of making the Opening Day roster if he comes out and produces the way he has during his young professional career.

The top prospect in baseball understands that he has an opportunity to make the Orioles and he's excited about it. He had the following to say, according to Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner.

“It’s a little bit more exciting, right? You get a chance to make the team,” Holliday said Saturday in the clubhouse. “Just trying to take it day by day and enjoy these guys and enjoy getting better.”

The former No. 1 overall pick has posted impressive numbers in his 541 MiLB at-bats. He's slashed .320/.449/.490 with 13 home runs throughout Single-A to Triple-A.

Opening Day just feels right for Holliday. Orioles fans deserve to hear his name called as they take the field against the Los Angeles Angels.

Holliday will come up with plenty of hype and expectations, but this is a great roster around him and he doesn't have to feel as much pressure as other top prospects.

The front office made the right decision when they called Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson up, so they should be trusted to make the right decision with Holliday.

Spring Training can serve as an indication of whether he's ready for the next stage or not.

This is as exciting a time as there's ever been in Baltimore. After winning the AL East last season, the next step is winning a playoff game and more.
