Former Padres Pitcher Signs with NL West Rival Dodgers
Former San Diego Padres relief pitcher Nabil Crismatt has found a new home in California.
According to New York Mets insider Mike Mayer, Crismatt has signed a minor league deal with the division rivals Los Angeles Dodgers.
Crismatt spent three seasons with the Friars from 2021-2023. He came along after the shortened 2020 season, signing a minor league deal in late 2020.
The 28-year-old collected an 8-4 record with a 3.83 ERA, 145 strikeouts, a 4.00 FIP, and a 1.34 WHIP in 102 games and one start for the brown and gold. His 2023 season wasn't so pretty as he was lit up for 13 runs, 12 of them earned, over 13 innings with the Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023. He was much better in 2022, though, and battled injuries in 2023.
Crismatt is now headed to Los Angeles, an organization known to rejuvenate pitchers, regardless of their circumstances. We'll see how he fares in Los Angeles, and see if the Padres get a chance to face him at some point this season.
