The San Diego Padres were able to successfully bring together a ton of the biggest names in all of baseball this offseason and the general consensus was that no matter the amount of money they spent, years of contending for World Series titles would make the investment well worth it. And we certainly are not ruling that out, these types of dynasties take time to build and few immediately pan out perfectly in year one.

But year one is all we can break down for right now and with the 2023 season just about halfway complete, the big question is whether or not the Padres will remain patient with their core and not make some phone calls as the trade deadline looms closer and closer. It's pretty crazy to see how the All-Star voting is trending right now and how a number of their top guys could get snubbed... who saw this coming? Juan Soto literally had to go out on a limb and say that he'll be more inclined to defend his Home Run Derby title if he makes the game as well.

So the panic is starting to creep in within the Padres' community but Manny Machado has assured that it has not within their clubhouse. He knows that they must improve moving forward but he still believes in the guys he's taking the field with.
