In his second start of the 2023 season, Padres lefty ace Blake Snell hit a milestone for his career. In his start against the Atlanta Braves tonight, Snell recorded the 1,000th strikeout of his major league career.

He got it done against the seventh batter in the Braves' lineup Sam Hillard.

San Diego Padres broadcaster Bob Scanlan captured a picture of the ball, and it is now in safekeeping.

This is Snell's third season as a Padre, and he has already collected over 350 strikeouts in the brown and gold. In his first five seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, he's collected 648 strikeouts.

The former Cy Young winner is not off to a great start in the season, but we all know he will figure it out soon.

We're lucky to have Snellzilla on our side, and we wish him another 1,000 strikeouts in his career, hopefully with the Padres.
