Prior to his three seasons with the San Diego Padres, Nabil Crismatt only every saw major league action in a couple games with the St.Louis Cardinals back in 2020.It was clear that the Friars wanted to make him a productive part of their pitching staff and he received opportunity after opportunity but just could not come through.

His year with the Padres was his second one in 2022. He was able to take the mound in 50 games for a total of 67 innings and posted a 2.94 ERA. Crismatt was looking to build off of that positive momentum in 2023 but that just never happened.

His ERA tripled to a 9.82 in just seven games with the clubhouse. He received a rehab stint where he hoped to improve with Triple-A El Paso but things were not much better there as he recorded a 6.94 ERA in 9 games. When Seth Lugo returned to the lineup from the IL, San Diego did not hesitate to designate Crismatt for assignment.

And now he has officially cleared waivers and will be in search of a new home.

"The Padres announce that Nabil Crismatt has cleared waivers and elected free agency."

I still think that Crismatt has a future in the MLB seeing that he is 28-years-old and has two solid MLB seasons under his belt. We wish him the best of luck moving forward even though he isn't with us anymore.
