Padres News: Juan Soto Makes MLB History as Dominant Young Career Continues

The young superstar is continuing to break more records.

Juan Soto put his name on top of some Hall of Fame outfielders as his young career just passed another huge benchmark.

Juan Soto has been on the path to greatness ever since he was 19 years old with the Washington Nationals where he was leading them to a World Series his first year in the Majors.

Since then, the 24-year-old corner outfielder has been nothing but great every year he has been in the league showing patience at the plate while also demonstrating his elite hit tool.

In his six-year career, Soto has a .421 on-base percentage with a .943 OPS. The still-young veteran has led the Majors in walks the last two years and is on pace to lead the Majors this year as well to keep his streak going.

Soto would also most likely have passed this record mark of 100+ walks in a season last year, if the shortened 2020 season never happened where in 47 games Soto recorded 41 walks.

Patience at the plate is Soto's strength and pitchers are often lost at how to pitch to him since he is able to take advantage of any pitcher that tries to throw a get-me-over fastball for a strike.

Already having hit 24 home runs this year and slugging at .500, the elite hitter does not allow for pitchers to have any easy at-bats against him.

Soto is a winner and the Padres want to win with him here for a long time. As contract extension talks deepen, Friar fans may be able to watch his already stellar career for a lot longer.
