Padres superstar Manny Machado took a scary hit to his hand in the fourth inning of San Diego's Monday matchup against the Kansas City Royals and could no longer participate in the game.

There was some fear initially about whether or not a fracture or even a broken bone would be the result of the crazy pitch but we have just received word that Machado is looking good!

If you haven't seen the play where the injury happened, take a look here.

Team manager Bob Melvin spoke to the media following the Padres' 4-0 win over Kansas City and revealed that Machado's X-Rays came back clean and they would check on him tomorrow as well.

Bob Melvin says Manny Machado had an xray, nothing broken. Will evaluate tomorrow

X-rays on Manny Machado’s hand were negative. No broken bones.

No matter how much he is struggling to start the year nor how many people are criticizing him, no real Padres fan would ever want to see our leader go down with any sort of injury.

We all remember what happened last season when his ankle gave out and he fought through to miss under 10 games and rejoin the squad as soon as possible. Machado's heart and loyalty to San Diego is second to none.
