The San Diego Padres just lost 4-3 to the Kansas City Royals and have dropped their third straight series. Their offensive struggles were on full display once again as they got outscored and could not get any big runs late in the match.

However, it appears that the Friars have another problem on their hands as we have a big update on Manny Machado's hand injury. He has missed the last two games that they lost and he will also get another day off on Thursday.

The initial x-rays had left us to believe that it was nothing serious to worry about and that his hand was only bruised. However, news just broke that Machado may have a serious problem have on his hands.

Team manager Bob Melvin revealed that the 30-year-old slugger had another MRI and cat scan just to make sure that it was healing okay but he discovered that there is indeed a fracture.

"Bob Melvin said that the initial x-ray didn't show anything regarding Manny Machado's hand, but he had a CAT scan and an MRI yesterday that showed a small fracture on the metacarpal. Melvin said he doesn't think it's an IL situation but they'll see how he feels after the day off."
