The month of May belonged to Padres RHP Michael Wacha, and we were just living in it. The team announced that the righty pitcher has won the National League Pitcher of the Month.

Wacha posted some video game-like numbers in May as he posted a 3-0 record with a 0.84 ERA, 26 strikeouts, and allowed only three earned runs and 16 hits in 32 innings pitched and five appearances.

Overall, he has a 3.45 ERA and 49 strikeouts, most of which came in May. The Padres won three of the five games, but those two losses weren't registered toward him. He's truly been a revelation for the Friars and has looked like the former 2015 All-Star he once was.

San Diego signed him to a four-year deal worth $26 million in the late part of the offseason, and it looks like a great signing as of now. Hopefully, he can keep up his hot start, and if the team can figure it out, they will be scary down the road.

Congrats to Wacha on a well-deserved award!
