Sometimes in life, things can be so simple. Such as putting together a competitive sports team and having attendance numbers skyrocket. This is exactly what has happened recently for the San Diego Padres as the team is in the midst of a winning era of baseball.

The Padres have been one of the most popular picks to win the World Series this season and even with their early season issues, many still believe that they will eventually get to the playoffs. Petco Park has benefitted from the Padres winning ways as the stadium continues to sell out home games at a crazy rate. Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union Tribune had this to say:

"Last night’s crowd of 40,197 comprised the 23rd sellout of the season. It is conceivable the Padres match or break the franchise record of 26 sellouts in a season by the end of the homestand on Sunday. There are 47 home games remaining."

Per The San Diego Union Tribune

San Diego will break their franchise record of 26 sellouts for a season. It may happen this weekend but if it doesn't, it won't be far off. The Padres have their fans excited for the first time in a long time. That excitement gets people to spend their hard earned money on tickets to come to the ballgames.

As long as the Padres continue to field a strong team and they win baseball games, people will pack the stadium. After all, it's a beautiful park and deserves to be seen by as many people as possible.

The Padres are here to stay as contenders so in all likelihood, Petco Park won't see any dip in attendance anytime soon.
