Padres News: SD Loses Recently-Released OF to Division Rival Dodgers
The San Diego Padres are in the midst of a very important series against the San Fransisco Giants where they dropped the first game due to some late-game struggles from their bullpen. It will be a super important stretch of games for the Friars and they will need to get things together if they want to compete with the Giants, who recently swept an NL division-rival in the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaking of the Dodgers, they just added a former Padres OF this afternoon as they welcomed in David Dahl on a minor-league deal. This news was first shared by Alex Freedman.
"
#Dodgers
have signed outfielder David Dahl to a minor league contract. He has joined OKC and is in tonight's lineup. Was with Padres/Triple-A El Paso this season until he was DFA 2 weeks ago. Career .271/.317/.463 hitter over 331 games in the Majors."

Dahl was released by the San Diego Padres about two weeks ago after he played just four games and appeared in nine at-bat's. He batted .111 and recorded an OPS of .556. He was not given as many opportunities as he probably needed but it's important to remember that SD did not have much room for error at the beginning of the season.
