The San Diego Padres have a very good problem on their hands; too much talent at one position. Fernando Tatis Jr., Xander Bogaerts, and Ha-Seong Kim have all proven themselves at shortstop and all signs point to Tatis moving to the outfield on defense.

His teammate Trent Grisham, who is likely to help mentor Tatis as he changes positions, was asked at FanFest last week how he thinks the move will go.

"Tatis is one of the best athletes I've ever seen, I feel like he's going to blend into it well," said Grisham. "But it's going to be however he wants to do it, I feel like he's going to blend into it himself."

Grisham has been with the Padres since 2019 and witnessed Tatis' rise to stardom firsthand. The 26-year-old will play a key role this season and stressed that he would want Tatis to prioritize communication while in the outfield.

"For me, playing with corner guys is all about communication," said Grisham. "Whether that was a guy that's been out there for 10 years or a guy that's never been out there, it's kind of the same. That's from my shoes."

When asked about what position he would be playing this season, Tatis simply stated that he'll do whatever it takes to win. If he were to move to the outfield, he would be joining another star teammate out there in Juan Soto.

Tatis has been captured training in this new position before.
