The San Diego Padres officially announced their re-signing of utility player Jurickson Profar on Saturday. Profar agreed to a one-year deal with San Diego earlier in the offseason, giving the Padres more depth along the edges of the roster.

Profar re-joined the Padres for the last month of the season last year, helping them stay alive in the playoff race. It was a welcome sight back for the veteran, and San Diego was ecstatic to see him return.

The veteran spent most of the season with the Colorado Rockies before joining the Padres. He appeared in 14 games for the Padres last season, hitting .295 and driving in seven runs.

He played three seasons with San Diego before signing with Colorado last offseason. Profar is now expected to take on a nice-sized role this year, as he gives this team needed flexibility in how they build out their roster.

Profar has been a fan-favorite for years now, and it's great to see him back. We can all hope for a more productive 2024 season, and Profar will be a key component of that.
