A big weekend is ahead of your San Diego Padres as they will take on their division rivals Los Angeles Dodgers. The pitching matchup this weekend is going to be a good one and will hold a lot of weight.

The baseball and storylines will be front and center, but unfortunately, injuries play a factor, and the Friars suffered one on Friday.

The team announced they placed José Azocar on the 10-day IL and brought back outfielder Adam Engel from the 10-day IL.

Engel suffered a hamstring injury and missed over a month of baseball. He's now back and will replace Azocar, who was dealing with left elbow inflammation.

Azocar filled the role of Fernando Tatis Jr. in right field at the beginning of the season. In 20 games, he slashed .244/.262/.293 with a .555 OPS, zero home runs, and one RBI.

Engel has been with the team's Triple-A affiliate in 2023 and could have done better for the El Paso Chihuahuas. He most likely won't play a significant role in his time in the majors, but we'll see what the future holds for him.

We wish Azocar the best, and we're glad Engel is back and healthy.
