Texas Rangers Go For MLB Record Perfect 10 Road Win in Game 4 Of World Series Tuesday

The Texas Rangers' 9-0 road record is a single postseason record. A Game 4 win in the World Series would claim another MLB record.

PHOENIX — The Texas Rangers are on the precipice of MLB history.

The club has won nine consecutive road games this postseason, a record for a single postseason. A win in Game 4 of the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night and the Rangers will own the longest postseason road winning streak of all time.

The nine-game win streak is tied with the New York Yankees (1996-97 and 1937-42).

The previous record for eight road wins in a single postseason was held by the 1996 Yankees and 2019 Washington Nationals.

Texas' .583 winning percentage on the road is the highest in MLB history with at least 25 or more games. The Rangers are 21-15 on the road in the postseason.

Monday's Game 3 win was the Rangers' second World Series road win. They also won Game 2 in St. Louis in the 2011 World Series.

Texas has won a franchise-best 11 times this postseason, surpassing their 10 wins in the 2011 postseason. The Rangers could match the record for wins in a single postseason by winning two more games and claiming their first World Series title.

The 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers won an MLB-high 13 postseason games.
