Tyler Stephenson Expecting to Bounce Back This Season

The veteran is confident ahead of the 2024 season.

Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson has high hopes and expectations for himself this season.

"I personally think I can be one of the best catchers in baseball," Stephenson said last week.

The 27-year-old posted a .243 batting average in 465 at-bats last season, finishing with 13 home runs and 56 RBI. He only appeared in 50 games in 2022 due to a fractured thumb, a concussion and a fractured collarbone.

The Reds have moved him around in the past, but their goal is simple: to maximize his value as a catcher.

It's reasonable to expect him to spend the majority of his time behind the plate. Hopefully he can stay healthy and perform at a high level this season after two disappointing seasons.
