Twins right fielder Max Kepler is set to start a rehab assignment.

Kepler was placed on the injured list on April 9 with a right knee contusion, but according to multiple reports from Twins beat writers, Kepler is heading to Indianapolis to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday. Kepler has played in five games this season, going 1 for 20 from the plate. The Saints opened a six-game series against the Indians on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, closer Jhoan Duran threw a live bullpen on Tuesday and is reportedly expecting to face live hitters pregame on Friday before the Twins open a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers at Target Field. Duran started the season on the injured list due to an oblique strain.

It’s finally some good news on the injury front for the Twins, who have been battling the injury bug since before the season even began. A trio of relievers, including Duran, started the season on the injured list, and Minnesota has lost two of its best hitters in third baseman Royce Lewis and shortstop Carlos Correa to injuries already this season.

Hopefully the Twins can continued to get healthier as they look to recover from a 6-10 start.
