Tigers come from behind to beat Twins despite Ober's strong start

Ober pitched six shutout innings Sunday afternoon.

Bailey Ober kept the Detroit Tigers lineup in check, but the hits started coming for the Tigers after he left the mound in a 4-3 Twins loss Sunday afternoon in Detroit.

Ober pitched a shutout through six innings, allowing just three hits while striking out three, and Brock Stewart pitched a shutout seventh inning to keep the Twins ahead 3-0.

But the Tigers (9-6) touched reliever Caleb Thielbar, who was activated on Sunday after beginning the season on the injured list, for three hits and three runs in 1/3 innings. The Tigers plated four runs in the frame overall to jump out to a 4-3 lead.

Javier Baez started the onslaught with a solo home run 399 feet into left field, Mark Canha later hit a two-run double to left field and Spencer Torkelson added an RBI single to right to score the go-ahead run.

The Twins (6-8) went ahead in the second inning when Ryan Jeffers plated two with a single to left field. Christian Vazquez hit a solo homer to left-center field in the fourth inning to make it a 3-0 Twins advantage.
