Twins announce spring training broadcast schedule

New TV broadcast team of Cory Provus and Justin Morneau will announce their first game on March 20

The Twins announced their spring training broadcast schedule on Thursday and it features eight games on television and 20 games on radio.

New play-by-play announcer Cory Provus, who steps in after Dick Bremer's four-decade career ended, will get his first TV call for the Twins on March 20 when the Twins take on the Detroit Tigers on Bally Sports North.

Provus will be joined by former Twins first baseman Justin Morneau, and the duo will be together again for Minnesota's March 22 game against the Atlanta Braves.

Former Twins pitcher LaTroy Hawkins will jump in for Morneau for the March 24 Twins-Orioles game on Bally Sports North.

Two other TV broadcasts will be simulcasts of the radio call, with Kris Atteberry and Dan Gladden on the play-by-play: March 16 against Tampa Bay and March 18 for the Twins-Red Sox contest.

The three remaining TV broadcasts will be simulcasts from the opponents' TV crews, which you'll be able to watch on Bally Sports North.

  • March 12 @ Detroit (Bally Sports Detroit)
  • March 13 vs Tampa (Bally Sports Sun)
  • March 25 @ Atlanta (Bally Sports South)

The Twins will air 20 games across its network of radio affiliates, including 830 WCCO and 102.9 The Wolf in the Twin Cities. Atteberry and Gladden will call those games starting with the Feb. 23 exhibition against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
