Donovan Mitchell Continues To Have Teammate's Back, Cavs News

Cleveland Cavaliers: Donovan Mitchell praises Darius Garland for his game management.

The Cleveland Cavaliers' roller coaster of a season continues. Injuries have hurt the consistency of the team even though they've found ways through it time and time again.

Something that has stayed constant through the good times and the bad is Donovan Mitchell's unwavering support for teammate Darius Garland. This is what Mitchell said about Cleveland's starting point guard after their win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.

"Tonight, what you saw, I think was one of his best games that I've seen [Darius Garland] from a managing standpoint. Obviously, he's had triple-doubles, he's done that before. He can score, he can pass. So, just to see him manage the game, continue to get guys in the right spots, get to his spots."

This isn't the first time Mitchell has gone out of his way to talk highly about DG. At the end of February when Garland was still working to get reacclimated, Mitchell went on a rant to the media about how the unfair criticism he had gotten from fans on social media.

Now, he's once again highlighting how important Garland is to this team which shows how great of a leader Mitchell is.

Looking closer at DG's performance against the Pelicans, it truly was one of his best games of the season. He finished with 27 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds in Cleveland's victory.

Garland has been working to find his shot all season. He started off the year in a slump and right when it looked like he had discovered a rhythm, the point guard found himself sidelined for almost two months with a fractured jaw.

We're finally starting to see the All-Star version of Garland and Mitchell's confidence in him could be a big part of tat.
