Jarrett Allen Is Unlikely To Play On Sunday Against The Hornets

Jarrett Allen has been listed as doubtful to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they take on the Charlotte Hornets.

All Cleveland Cavaliers fans held their breath on Friday night as Jarrett Allen rolled on the ground in pain.

As their game against the Heat was in the final minutes of regulation, Allen and Bam Adebayo both went up for a rebound. Bam inadvertently poked Allen in the eye and Allen immediately dropped to the ground.

JA was assisted off the floor and walked directly to the locker room with a towel over his injured eye. Hearing about a Cavalier with an eye injury instantly brings back fans to the season opener when Darius Garland left the game with a similar injury that caused him to miss five games.

As of right now, a timetable hasn't been set for Allen's return and we haven't been told just how serious the injury is. The only news that has been given is that Allen is currently listed as DOUBTFUL to play on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets.

Losing Allen would be a massive blow for the Cavaliers. He may not drop 40 points on a consistent basis as Donovan Mitchell does, but his defense and paint presence are at the center of what makes the Cavs successful.

Hopefully, he doesn't have too long of an absence.
