What To Expect In Final Brooklyn Nets-Cleveland Cavaliers Matchup

Cleveland looks to sweep its regular-season series against Brooklyn with a victory tonight.

Two nights ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers earned their 41st win of the season with a 113-104 overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tonight, the Wine and Gold will host the Brooklyn Nets in the second game of a three-game homestand.

Here are four things to expect in the fourth and final matchup between these two teams this regular season.

1. Cavaliers Trying to Complete a Sweep

Cleveland has won each of its first three games against Brooklyn this regular season.

In these contests, the Wine and Gold have outscored the Nets by an average of 11.0 points per game, and have made 15.0 three-pointers per game compared to Brooklyn’s 9.0.

2. An Increased LeVert Workload

According to the Cavaliers on X, Caris LeVert will be in Cleveland’s starting lineup tonight. This will be just his second start of the season, and first since October 28.

According to the NBA’s 6:30 p.m. ET Injury Report, the Cavaliers will be without Donovan Mitchell (left knee bone bruise), Evan Mobley (left ankle sprain), Max Strus (right knee strain), and Dean Wade (personal reasons).

3. A Battle Between Former Teammates

Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen and the Nets’ Nic Claxton were Brooklyn teammates during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

Allen (62.7%) and Claxton (62.6%) rank fifth and sixth respectively in the NBA in field-goal percentage so far this season.

4. Thomas Scoring Often

Nets guard Cam Thomas has played well offensively against the Cavaliers this season.

In three games against the Wine and Gold, the 22-year-old is averaging a team-best 26.3 points per game, shooting 46.7% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range.
